Moose Mountains Offers Free Forestry Workshops this Fall

Moose Mountains Regional Greenways and Branch Hill Farm are teaming up to offer two free outdoor forestry workshops in Milton, NH.

A workshop on Northern Hardwood Forests at Branch Hill Farm will focus on the ecology of the hardwood forests found in central and northern New Hampshire. It will take place outdoors on Saturday, October 7 from 9 am to noon at Branch Hill Farm in Milton Mills. Led by consulting forester Dan Stepanauskas, this workshop is appropriate for landowners, volunteers, and those interested in learning more about the northern hardwood forests give New Hampshire our famous fall foliage.  This workshop is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required.

Another workshop, Forest Restoration Field Workshop at Jones Brook, will be led by consulting forester Charlie Moreno from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, November 4, and will take place at the Jones Brook property, located in Milton, NH. This workshop will be appropriate for landowners, volunteers, professionals, and forestry students interested in learning about forestry techniques used to improve and restore a northern hardwood forest. This workship is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required.
